Members of Law Enforcement Torch Run Victoria love a challenge especially when it is in support of the awesome athletes of Special Olympics.
So, when LETR was issued a challenge by its Western Australian counterpart to be part of that State’s first ever Polar Plunge, they did not hesitate.
LETR Vic, joined LETR WA, hundreds of brave athletes, members of the WA Police Force and Torch Run representatives from around the country to take part in a “Freezin’ for a Reason” challenge.
And the Victorian representatives did us proud as they launched themselves into the waters off the coast of Perth and into the icy depths of the Indian Ocean.
One of the LETR Vic team was even spotted plunging into the freezing deep in her full uniform!
Torch Run Victoria was so impressed with the event, they now plan to bring the Polar Plunge to our chilly shores next winter.
After all, the Victoria LETR crew reckon they’ll have the home ground advantage being, as they say they are, more acclimatised to the cold and are not so squeamish about jumping into the freezing and choppy waters off Port Phillip Bay.
Bring it on!
