What an incredible and inspiring weekend for the LETR members who were lucky enough to join Special Olympics Victoria on its annual athlete leadership retreat in chilly Mount Eliza.
A record 13 new athletes were inducted into the 2023 leadership program and our LETR members could not have been more impressed with their confidence, ethics, communication, teamwork and their determination to lead by example.
In other words, they were already natural leaders!
Our second-and third-year athlete leaders joined the new recruits to help navigate the sometimes-tricky path to leadership.
They also used their carefully honed leadership experience to herd every member of the camp – including LETR’s own leadership team – before the television to watch the Aussie women’s soccer team beat France in an epic penalty shootout.
It was a great weekend and LETR is super excited to be working with a new generation of leaders.
