That’s up to you and what you can and want to manage. Liaise with our Business Manager and see what roles are available, who could do with support and assess your options. Be a general volunteer and help out by attending events in your local area, organise one event a
year, take on a portfolio or a greater responsibility. It depends on what you want to contribute and manage and what you want to get out of it. There is something for everyone and no amount of assistance is too little or too much.

We advertise events regularly via social media and our website. Connect with us and register to attend an event.

From here, you might consider joining our General Committee or Executive Committee if you’re interested when positions are available.

YES. All volunteer hours are logged via your volunteer profile. You essentially have a resume created of your skills, attributes, responsibilities and hours contributed that you can use externally to LETR VIC. You will also have the opportunity to attend events as a guest, undertake training and development, raise your professional and public profile, represent the organisation and be considered to attend the LETR International Conference in the USA partly funded.

No. Anyone can express interest to volunteer for LETR. Given the nature of our work and close association to Victoria Police, due diligence will be taken in ensuring that volunteers are appropriately suited to our cause.

Each year the Alumni members are invited to attend the Gala Ball to celebrate our ongoing success.

Equally, they are invited to join our LETR VIC team in support of the Blue Ribbon Angela Taylor Fun Run/Walk at no cost and enjoy a bbq breakfast with the greater team.

Alumni have access to the initiative that primarily supports Victoria Police employees who are carers for individuals with disability and/or autism.

Past Executive Committee of LETR are recognised on the honour board displayed at the Victoria Police Centre.

What are the expectations of volunteers?

Committee Members

All committee members are expected to be Workplace Givers and either hold a significant portfolio or organise an event each year. Everyone should attend a minimum of two events per year to assist with on the ground presence at sporting events, cheering on athletes and presenting medals.

Volunteers

There is only one contracted individual paid by LETR for 3 days per week. Everyone else is considered a volunteer. Volunteers that are not on the General Committee or Executive Committee have more flexibility and no official expectations. However, we do ask that everyone treats their role with integrity and respect and if you can no longer attend a commitment or continue volunteering, that time along with assistance to locate a
replacement is attempted.

LETR would like to recognise the following individuals and welcome them to our Alumni

Participant Responsibilities:

Event organisers do not possess knowledge of individual participants’ physical abilities or disabilities.
